Doll on Antique Chair Veda Leona, first in The Grandmothers limited edition soft body doll series: Women and Girls of the Twentieth Century, depicts an Edwardian bride. She wears an ivory colored fine batiste gown, some of which is sewn on a 1913 White Rotary treadle machine.

The sixteen inch tall doll's body is 100% pimatex cotton, hand stained with coffee. Facial features are hand painted with textile paints, varying slightly from doll to doll; the hair is wool, also varying slightly, according to dye lots.

The dress is embellished with lace and a machine embroidered overlay designed by the doll maker, while the high top boots are beaded ivory satin. With the exception of the neckline, lace on the bodice, sleeves, and skirt, as well as the bloomers, is vintage. Although similar in color and style, it varies from doll to doll. Clothing and shoes are not removable.

The dolls are wonderful keepsakes: a treasured gift to give for a bridal shower, wedding, anniversary, or the birthday of a special friend or family member. The dolls' bodies, facial features, and clothing are designed from photographs spanning a one hundred year period. The collection will include dolls depicting various ages within this time frame: children, college students, and adults.

One Veda Leona doll is ready for sale. There are four doll's bodies, with faces painted and bloomers made, also available. It takes approximately two days to make the dress, hair, and embellishments for each doll. Please enquire. Information is available on the Order/Contact page.
