Elizabeth, circa 1900, the second in The Grandmothers limited edition soft body doll series: Women and Girls of the Twentieth Century, depicts a young woman posing for her engagement portrait. She wears a dusty rose poplin gown, with black poplin trim and a white batiste bodice, which has pin tucking detail. The pleated cuffs and skirt edging were sewn on a 1913 treadle sewing machine. There is a spray of small pink roses on her waistband. Her straw hat, which is quite a confection, is covered with pink batiste, white tulle, and pink roses.
Her black satin high top boots are embellished with beads as buttons, and her white batiste bloomers have vintage lace, varying from doll to doll. Clothing and shoes are not removable.
The sixteen inch tall doll's body is 100% pimatex cotton, hand stained with coffee. Facial features are hand painted with textile paints, varying slightly from doll to doll; the hair is wool, also varying slightly, according to dye lots.
$45.00, plus tax. Shipping and handling charges calculated individually.
